Associate Director For Scholarships
CurrentI oversee the administration, selection, awarding and programming of the University’s merit scholarships as well as the process for awarding over 1200 institutional need-based scholarship funds.I work closely with the Office of Admissions, the Honors Program, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, as well as both the Arts and Sciences Foundation and the UNC Development Office, to achieve the University’s recruitment goals.I recruit faculty to serve on scholarship selection committee and to act as mentors to scholars.I develop enrichment opportunities for scholarship recipients as part of the Scholars Program. This includes securing funding for experiential learning and other features designed to create a community of scholars on campus.I help shape the University’s scholarship policies and objectives, together with the Associate Provost and Director of the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid.I provide advice and guidance to other offices and organizations in such matters as fundraising, donor relations and scholarship-related practices. I supervise a current staff of two full-time and three part-time employees.
