I represent employers in workplace law matters, including preventive counseling and litigation avoidance. I have defended a wide range of employment law claims, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and wage-and-hour actions, and have first-chair experience conducting mediations, depositions, and bench trials.I recognize that each client has particularized needs that vary based on their regulatory environment, business requirements, and stakeholders involved. I strive to become an extension of my client’s team and anticipate needs before they arise. My experience includes counseling clients, drafting policies and employee handbooks, conducting internal investigations, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions and appeals.In past practice, I assisted a medical facility in obtaining dismissal of a nurse’s harassment claims and helped a large professional-services employer obtain summary judgment against all claims raised in an age- and race-discrimination action.Prior to entering private practice, I spent several years as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, where I dove head-first into employment law and never looked back. In this role, I represented New Jersey in litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, employee benefits, and a putative breach-of-contract class action, among other matters, and briefed numerous appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division and Supreme Court. During the 2014-2015 court term, I clerked for the Honorable Carmen H. Alvarez, Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.Outside of law practice, I use my background as a professional pianist in my service as Music Leader for Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I'm currently working to expand my musical horizons by learning the guitar.

I served as Senior Counsel in Berger Montague's Employment & Unpaid Wages practice group, where I advocated for employees whose wages had been withheld or who had experienced unlawful harassment, discrimination, or retaliation in the workplace. I was frequently consulted by employees who had been wronged and worked tirelessly to vindicate my clients’ rights. I handled a variety of high-stakes cases ranging from single-plaintiff litigation to complex class and collective actions.

At Post & Schell, I defended employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in state and federal court, including actions under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, Civil Rights Act, and Conscientious Employee Protection Act. I also counseled employers on proactive compliance with state and federal labor and employment statutes. In addition, I assisted employers by conducting comprehensive investigations into potential harassment, discrimination, and retaliation issues. My clients included companies and entities in the health care, manufacturing, and professional services industries. In past private practice, I represented public and independent schools and counseled boards of education and school administrators on statutory and regulatory compliance, labor and employment issues, public contracting, special education, student discipline, civil rights, risk management, and litigation avoidance.
