•Responsible for the design, fabrication and implementation of tooling for processes used in the fabrication of optical grade components used in the telecommunications marketplace.•Rework of proprietary in-house planetary lapping and polishing equipment and associated tooling used to put optical grade finishes on customer product.•General machine shop skills used for tooling fabrication and rework.•Responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair and installation of all equipment associated with the manufacturing processes.•Responsible for the redesign, rebuild and upgrade of proprietary Electronic Planetary lapping equipment used in the manufacturing of Thin Film Read/Write computer peripherals.•Machine disassembly, assembly, electrical wiring of power distribution, relay and motor control panels, electrical ECO’s of PCB’s involving soldering and desoldering of surface mount and through hole components, tooling and fixture machining and rework using Bridgeports, lathes, surface grinders and various other machine shop equipment, test equipment knowledge including oscilloscopes and DVM’s, knowledge of various measurement tools including vernier calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and microscopes.•Responsible for upgrades and technical support on all machines located in the United States, Panyu, China and Batam, Indonesia.•Responsible for the training of all personnel in the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

•Responsible for the failure analysis testing of Thin Film Read/Write peripheral devices used in the computer disk drive industry. Analysis testing included sophisticated equipment used to simulate the hard disk drive operation and environmental test chambers used to simulate different operating conditions.•Continued technical, mechanical and operational support of manufacturing equipment in the facility located in Batam, Indonesia including process support and equipment troubleshooting and repair.
