I have been working in the television industry since 2005. I started working in master control at KCSM, in San Mateo, and went on to work at KRON in San Francisco. I started at KRON working as a stage manager, worked my way up as an audio technician and camera operator. In 2008, I started directing the morning news as a freelancer, and then became a full time director in 2012.As a director, we use Ross Overdrive automation combined with a Ross Vision switcher to put out our newscasts. We use ENPS for a rundown and Camio for graphics. I have a very good understanding of these systems in order to execute the newscasts.I also worked many years as a master control operator at KCSM-TV, in San Mateo. My main job here was to execute the day-to-day operations of keeping the station on the air. Some of my tasks included checking the playlist for discrepancies, catching network feeds, quality control of programs, and occasional fill in work on productions.I was also co-owner/executive producer at Trifecta Pictures. This is a small company that really enabled me to learn how to create a great product, in a timely manner, and under budget. Some of the skills that I have learned include: Adobe After Effects, audio editing, DVD/Blu-Ray authoring, producing short/feature/documentary films, lighting, editing on Apple's Final Cut Pro, web design on Adobe Dreamweaver, graphic design on Adobe Photoshop. I also learned how to write scripts, budgets, and keep an understanding of the big picture.
