I never met a number I didn't want to crunch. I am a hard-core analytics guy specializing in the Microsoft BI stack, which happily now includes R and Python. I've worked with SQL Server since 1995 and started working with MS Analysis Services back when it was still called OLAP Server. In recent years I have spent more and more time applying machine learning and AI techniques to data analysis. My preferred platforms are Python and PyTorch, and 飞桨 from the internet giant Baidu. Lately I have found myself increasing drawn to Julia, a relatively new language designed by and for math geeks. While PyTorch is an excellent platform on which to apply existing techniques, Julia seems ideal for cutting-edge research.I am free to travel, often on short notice.I'm only half joking when I tell folks my profession is software, and my hobby is hardware. While I am most definitely not an electronics engineer, I enjoy playing with IoT and edge devices, including those custom-crafted using FPGA technology.
