My projects focused on new construction and renovations for Higher Education. These included residence halls, student centers, performing arts facilities, and academic science buildings. I am skilled at managing large and technically sophisticated projects. Teamwork and communication has been key to my leadership style providing continuity, responsibility, and creativity to my projects. I take advantage of the inherent genius and motivation of my team through collaboration and agreement. Each project, I investigated innovative sustainable concepts on each project; a Living Wall for a residence hall, integrating a natural ventilation system and smoke exhaust system for a campus center, a super insulated high performance exterior, modular housing options for residential construction, a wind turbine, and a Passive House approach to low energy design. I guided my team in publishing a Carbon Neutral Study for a residence hall at Roger Williams University, and an innovative student living environment (UPOD). I established a philosophy of sustainable innovation in the Boston Practice and lectured on student life, sustainable design, and modular housing. My experience included managing multiple large new and renovation projects at various phases of design and construction for Colleges and Universities. These projects included student centers, libraries, residence halls, and campus master plans. My many project experiences contributed to developing strong skills at balancing team and client management with technical knowledge and design ambitions. As a Junior Architect, I worked on projects in Boston and NYC SOM offies. I contributed to large urban design planning studies, developed large scale presentation boards for many projects, contributed to the design and construction drawings of a large office building at Logan airport, coordinated engineering drawings on various projects, and study models. I lead the concept design for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Coastal and Marine Science Research Center, designed a restaurant renovation in New York, and coordinated a small team for a high rise office building.
