Duties: Serve as Project Manager and Contractor Officer's Representative (COTR). Responsible for monitoring financial expenditures for assigned programs through the issuance and review of work orders. As Project Manager, serves as technical expert and primary point of contact for obsolete National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) ship disposal initiatives and projects, including on‐site observation, fact finding, analysis and problem solving duties related to marine industrial production, planning/scheduling, project management and contract administration practices. Accomplishes technical project oversight of contractors engaged in vessel disposal of NDRF ships. Performs administrative functions, oversight and contract compliance assessments of environmental and contractor worker safety and health requirements associated with ship disposal. Conducts studies, reviews, analysis and investigations of the effectiveness and efficiency of management and program policies related to the Ship Disposal Program operation from a problem solving and quality assurance perspective. Participates in conducting a variety of technical, productivity surveys, inspections and assessments of marine industrial facilities involved in vessel disposal agreements or procurement actions by the Maritime Administration.

Duties: Was the owner and sole-practitioner consultant of DANA M. AUSTIN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING, INC., from 1995 to 2009. In this capacity, I provided industrial environmental consulting services to a national base of clientele. Services included a broad based suite of environmental consulting activities including technical writing and development of customized environmental training programs; environmental permitting and regulatory agency intervention services; environmental litigation consulting; environmental project management services; and environmental products and services development and marketing.

Duties: I served as the CORPORATE MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS from 1989 through 1995 for Southwest Marine, Inc. In that capacity, I provided vision and leadership in planning, directing and overseeing corporate and divisional industrial operations compliance with environmental protection regulations. I was directly accountable for five major ship repair divisions and one ship breaking division. I advised management personnel in regulatory interpretation, implemented company environmental policy and procedures, and supervised technical operations. I formulated and established company environmental management policies and procedures that promoted sound environmental business decisions.
