To call me "proactive" or "a planner" might be an understatement: I read the book "Fight Fat After 40" at age 32 (don't eat carbs after 5pm!!!). Planning and proactivity are built into my DNA, as is the desire to be constantly growing, learning, improving, and stretching myself. I was promoted to District Group Exercise Coordinator from my position as Group Exercise Instructor at The Rush during a time when the company was undergoing seismic shifts in its corporate structure. Five months after attaining the position, I was told by my supervisor's supervisor that the corporate level immediately above mine (my supervisor's position) was being eliminated across the company and that my supervisor would be given my job. My final day as Coordinator was October 31, 2012. However, while in the position, I managed 60+ group exercise instructors, assisted in interviewing and hiring them, handled staff performance issues, and did regular evaluations of instructors' teaching style and class participation. Created and maintained class schedules for two Rush locations totaling close to 100 classes per week. Formed and maintained relationships with instructors and club members, fielded member comments, requests, and complaints regarding classes and instructors. Organized and monitored fitness equipment and facilities (group exercise room, yoga room pool) used for all group exercise classes, and worked closely with maintenance staff to address all equipment and facilities issues. Monitored all class attendance numbers and adjusted class schedules accordingly. Communicated regularly with all managerial staff at both Rush locations.
