As part of Ashok Gadgil's research group, I worked on the development of an effective electrochemical arsenic remediation technology for adoption in the Central Valley of California. I conducted bench-scale experiments and employ spectroscopic methods to measure residual arsenic within solution and to characterize in-situ generated adsorbents.

Selected as a Development Engineering Fellow in the project to commercialize a scalable low-cost arsenic remediation technology for societal impact. As Fellow, supervised and conducted field work at the 10,000 liter per day ECAR (ElectroChemical Arsenic Remediation) plant in Kolkata, India. Served as a liaison between US and India partners, collected and shipped samples, and solved day to day operation challenges. Developed an operation and maintenance manuals, and prepared a hand-off folder for industry partner.

Directed 3-week science program for 42 incoming UCI students in the STEM fields. Led a team of mentors, prepared budgets, and coordinated with CAMP staff and faculty.

Gained valuable experience in water treatment and quality assessment. Collected wastewater samples from local water reclamation plant. Utilized a flow cytometer to enumerate bacteria and virus populations at each phase in the wastewater treatment process. Presented work at the 2014 & 2015 UCI Undergraduate Research Symposiums, 2014 MAES Symposium, and 2014 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minorities in Science.

Assisted students in lower division courses, such as general chemistry and calculus, while also offering general academic advice.

Served as both a resident advisor and academic tutor to 42 incoming UCI freshman in STEM during a 3-week rigorous science program. Tutored in general chemistry and pre-calculus while offering advice on course schedule and answering general college questions.
