Town of Brookhaven is one of the largest municipality in New York State and the Information Technology department is to maintain and secure the Town’s digital assets, including databases, software and computing equipment, as well as provide technical support to the all departments within the Town. As an intern I had the duties of filming and editing of daily Town Board meetings that were later broadcasted on Cablevision – Long Island’s premier Government news station. Had managed the Parks and Recreation Department social media accounts and created greater presence via Facebook with photos, events, and communication.

-Works at the Regional Desk at NewsOne gaining experience working side-by-side with producers, associate producers and production associates to service our affiliates and clients needs and to process and move video utilizing the Pathfire distribution system.-Serves as a liaison between ABC affiliate stations, managing phones, and communicating constantly with affiliate Reporters and Managers, to obtain the stations top stories and to check current embargos to ensure stations have access to certain footage. -Manages news coverage of all ABC affiliates in the Southeast region, while monitoring social media for breaking and interesting stories. -Responsible for helping gather content for World News Tonight, World News Now, Good Morning America, 20/20, Nightline and assisting producers and other clients with video requests.-Cuts video using Avid Newscutter non-linear editing and desktop editing systems.-Writes scripts using iNews to be distributed to affiliate stations and all ABC News platforms using Extreme Reach server.

After volunteering at the station for just two months, I was promoted to the position of Production Director where I was responsible for editing full packages for English News, Spanish News, Senate, & Sports. Using the Adobe Suite, I have learned to add backgrounds to green screen, key and color correct images, add graphics to opening and closing of news programs, as well as creating bumpers and bugs to the news packages and briefs. I have also worked to hire, manage, and train assistant editors at the station. This position has taught me how to communicate with other departments, such as programming & videographer heads, to ensure footage is completed in time for broadcast. I also attended professional-like weekly executive board meetings to pitch stories for the upcoming week.In my final year at the station, I took on the additional responsibility of writing, filming, and editing monthly promotional commercials for the station. Had the responsibility of attending weekly meetings to organize and maintain the business aspect of the organization as well as looking over chair positions. JVC Broadcasting is a Long Island based company that is one of the largest independently owned and locally operated radio broadcast and entertainment companies. Owning four Long Island stations, JVC works to promote themselves and entertain through radio events and live concerts. As a intern I was responsible for assisting the Program Directors, Promotion Manager & Director and on-air talent in coordinating radio events and concert performances.I worked to promote the station through daily business-to-business marketing and maintained the station website with content, pictures, web contests and other interactive media. During live performances I had acted as a runner for performing artists, directors, and technicians to help allow concerts to run smoothly.
