An experienced communications, print media, public relations, and marketing professional, I have worked as a journalist, photographer, newspaper owner, publisher, editor and creative consultant for several weekly newspaper chains, my own business, and two corporate owned newspaper organizations.Most recently I had the pleasure of covering the incredible performing arts scene in Idaho's Treasure Valley (Boise and the surrounding area) as Arts and Entertainment Editor for the Idaho Press-Tribune and the Meridian Press. I started as a Community section clerk and feature writer in January of 2008 and took over as Arts and Entertainment Editor several years later. I left the publications in October 2013. In 1983 I started my own newspaper and commercial print and public relations business in Chesaning, MI. I grew Saginaw Area Newspapers and Publishing into a $1,000,000 grossing business before selling the operation in 2001. I continued to manage the business until relocating to Boise, ID in the summer of 2007. When I first arrived in Idaho, I worked as a freelance writer and as a contract fund raising/development and marketing person for the former Idaho Choral Symphony Orchestra.From January of 2008 until October of 2013 I served as Arts and Entertainment Editor and as a feature writer for the Idaho Press-Tribune (daily newspaper) in Nampa.My experiences are vast and varied and I've always enjoyed that aspect of the work I have done.I have experience managing staff, driving creative commercial print functions and just about everything else related to the newspaper and commercial print business. I quoted commercial print work and ensured it made its way through the system to completion.
