~I teach ACLS (Advanced cardiac life support or advanced cardiovascular life support) which refers to a set of clinical interventions for the urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, stroke and other life-threatening medical emergencies, as well as the knowledge and skills to deploy those interventions.~ I also teach BLS (Basic life support) which is the level of medical care which is used for victims of life-threatening illnesses or injuries until they can be given full medical care at a hospital.

I work as needed in the Surgery Department with an amazing team of doctors/surgeons, nurses, surgical techs and medical techs. I also teach ACLS and BLS for the hospital.

After three years of building a strong nursing foundation I ventured out and started to travel. I traveled to various hospitals through travel agencies and worked every area/unit I could to get a wide variety of experience. Orthopedic, Womens Unit, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care Cardiac, Cardiac Rehab, Neurology, Psychiatric, Gastrointestinal Lab, Critical Care Step down, Intensive Care, Doctors Office, and Outpatient Surgery. I met and cared for so many people and I loved it!

Electrophysiology Lab In The Heart Hospitl

An electrophysiology (EP) lab does studies and tests for problems within the heart’s electrical system. My responsibility in the lab was to give moderate conscious sedation and monitor the patient and their vital signs during the procedure and assist the techs and doctor. I was also charge nurse at times when needed. It was an excellent educational opportunity to further my knowledge of the heart.

My first job out of nursing school~ worked on a Critical Care Cardiac Unit and also floated to the Intensive Critical Unit when needed. It was an amazing, educational experience to build my knowledge and skills and start my nursing journey.
