As an Intern, I helped in the task of recruiting athletes to participate in the State Games of America, marketing the event across the state of Colorado, creating marketing materials, helping organize PR events and as the event neared, I was responsible for copywriting and acquisition of materials to put together the official State Games Event Manual (among other duties).In the last task mentioned, I was charged with collecting rules and regulations for numerous sports, creating location maps and directions for all sporting complexes, creating a safety/emergency plan for any possible threat (including fire, terrorist attack, injuries, inclement weather, etc...) and then putting all collected information together in a well organized "manual" which all State Games personnel and volunteers could reference on a whim. Once created, I was then tasked with printing and assembling numerous copies to give to each staff member and any necessary volunteers. As I was so familiar with the manual, I was responsible for training all personnel that would be in possession of a manual on the layout and inclusions.
