I am delivering data solutions for healthcare organisations, primarily the NHS, and internal consulting and HR operations. I was responsible for the setting up and running of the Client Technology Office development team within Indirect Tax Transformation. This was a dynamic multi-region development and delivery team responsible for executing tax technology projects, whether building repeatable SaaS assets or one-off client engagement builds. I was involved with the end-to-end project lifecycle from requirements to development to setting up support models.Key Achievements• I built a team from the ground up including architects, developers, project managers, business analysts and support staff to be able to deliver project work. I coached members of the team and wider department and helped several individuals to get promotion.• We successfully delivered several products including an Azure hosted ETL tool used to connect client data with internal EY systems, an Azure hosted API solution used to provide VAT number verification with various front-end apps, including an EY hosted web app.• I was responsible for ensuring all projects and solutions were delivered in line with EY’s strict development and delivery guidelines. All projects were run as Agile in co-operation with EY’s infrastructure teams. I acted as the central point in the team for ensuring governance was part of the rollout plan – including infosec, legal, branding and data privacy.• As product manager for the products, I was responsible for dealing with stakeholders and budgets, ensuring that we had the resources to deliver. I was responsible for developing the product roadmaps, ensuring they fitted into the wider tax technology strategy.• Drawing on by data background, I took the lead in developing BI solutions for the wider Indirect Tax team, I developed several operational dashboards in Power BI to help the indirect tax practice manage their teams and engagements. I was also working on introducing Microsoft Fabric to build out a data lakehouse and various warehouses to create an enterprise reporting platform.

During this contract I contributed significantly to the establishment of a Management Information Centre of Excellence dedicated to internal reporting at KPMG. I was integral in driving the adoption of best practices and agile methodologies within the CoE, all while providing mentorship and management to in-house developers and offshore resources. The builds, including UIs and data load structures were all built in Qlik Sense, but later KPMG began the adoption of Power BI and other Microsoft technologies.

I developed various data models and applications utilising QlikView and Oracle SQL, including tools for claims analysis and bordereau generation. These projects were managed by myself, end to end – including requirements gathering, development, release and handover.

I worked for almost three years as a senior consultant for Qlik in a 100% client facing role, so helping clients get the best out of Qlik’s products including QlikView and Qlik Sense. Clients I have worked with include PwC, Santander, HSBC, and BDO.I was fully certified in both products and was responsible for delivering professional client facing solutions, often overseeing the entire process from initial requirements gathering to Agile project management to final delivery and handover. During my two-year tenure at PwC, I was the development lead for several applications as part of their Halo program, including Journals Audit and Mid-Tier Audit products. The applications I built comprise of well-tuned data models, reusable code blocks, complex set analysis, and user-friendly interfaces.During my time at Qlik I gained a lot of valuable skills in team leadership, Agile project management techniques, data modelling, data analysis, data engineering and operating at a high level with demanding clients and stakeholders.

This role was a client facing consultant in a London based team. I was the lead for QlikView – including full lifecycle from Qlik server architecture and management, building out data layers using QVDs and developing front end applications. I was involved in creating client facing pre-sales materials, running internal courses and workshops. I was also called on to support some legacy Business Objects instances and began to cross train into Microsoft technologies.One of my core projects was developing a suite of QlikView applications for Housing and Adult Social Care in Camden Council. As lead, I handled resource allocation, coached colleagues, gathered requirements, conducted in-depth data analysis and data modelling. This end-to-end development lifecycle was executed using Agile methodology, ensuring successful delivery.Other clients I worked with were Ulster Bank, where I designed systems to support their retail banking arrears department, addressing critical operational needs, and Lebara mobile where I rebuilt several of their business critical applications to make them more efficient and responsive

This was a role where I really got involved with business intelligence and data engineering. I led a small team developing BI solutions for many different areas in the council including housing, social care, core finance, anti-social behaviour and other council services. We originally inherited an under-used Business Objects environment with which we built multiple data models from multiple data sources. We built business ready models and trained business users to build their own reports – I took on responsibility for developing courses and ensuring models were fit for purpose and my team provided support.We also built several data warehouses in SQL Server using SSIS as the ETL tool. These mainly pulled data from Camden’s Oracle systems – so I developed excellent Oracle and MS SQL skills as well as data warehouse techniques.We eventually procured QlikView in 2011 and began the process of converting legacy reports to the new environment, so I switched to become a pure Qlik developer.

I covered 23+ branches/repairs hubs in the South East where I was the key IT business systems contact for managers, area managers and clients. Main roles were to keep the branches up and running so carrying out troubleshooting – often involving complex data analysis. I was also involved in projects to streamline business processes where often solutions would require interfaces to be developed between client repairs systems and contractor systems.I also built a SQL reporting system that was rolled out to all branches where periodic emails would be sent to managers and supervisors to flag outstanding and imminent job tickets.

I was primarily involved in the rollout of the Repairs, Rents and Allocations modules for their Northgate Housing system. I wrote documentation and designed courses that were delivered to staff such as Repairs Officers and Homeless Assessment Officers. I also was a member of the build team, so responsible for building, for example, security and pricing policies.Also this was my first exposure to Business Objects where I installed and configured several universes and suites of reports – plus custom builds.
