This role covered the day to day management of a number of breeding and finishing sheep and beef farms on the East Coast (Gisborne, Hawkes Bay) and southern North Island (Wairarapa and Manawatu). I have with direct involvement on some farms and through Regional Business Managers on others. All told there are 150,000 breeding ewes and 8000 cows plus their progeny on the properties - all outdoors of course. My role is to set the farms up so that they are able to implement our strategy of transforming New Zealand's agriculture with a focus on animals, people and the environment.

Responsible for Livestock (sheep and beef) properties in the Northland and Coromandel regions. Approximately 60,000 breeding sheep, 7,000 breeding cows with 45 staff. Strategic direction and business plans for business units and group. Identifying and investigating new opportunities for growth both on and off farm. Liaising with external stakeholders including iwi, external experts and animal health advisors.
