Supervises a multi-agency task force of detectives from the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Sheriff's Office who combined their resources to more effectively provide a response to incidents of property crimes, automobile thefts and automobile burglaries within Leon County and the City of Tallahassee. The Property Crimes Task Force detectives operate under the authority of the Sheriff with countywide jurisdiction.

Supervised police officers ensuring work was performed in accordance with departmental rules, regulations and state statutes. Evaluated, counseled and disciplined assigned subordinates. Reviewed work and reports submitted by police officers. Ensured all laws and ordinances were enforced and life and property protected.

Team leader responsible for coordinating and responding to high risk incidents involving acts of violence, pre-planned arrest or search warrants, dignitary protections, and other assigned tasks. Prior to April 2017, in the absence of the Entry Team leaders, I filled the role of acting team leader. I prepared and instructed the team on SWAT operations, urban/rural operations, use of tools, breaching and structure entries, search warrants, tactics and specialty vehicle operations. I performed dignitary protection for visits to Tallahassee which included presidential visits and gubernatorial inaugurations.

Managed criminal investigations which included homicide, robbery, home invasion, carjacking, violation of injunctions for protection, stalking, suicide, accidental death, battery, assault, disorderly conduct and elder abuse. While in this assignment I was the acting supervisor on multiple occasions and tasked with reviewing and assigning cases to other detectives, contacting victims and case management.

Lead driving instructor and subject matter expert for vehicles and vehicle operations at the Tallahassee Police Department. I created and developed all related training curriculum and maintained training records for members of the Department. I collaborated with multiple local and state law enforcement agencies in developing their training curriculum. I assisted training in all high liability areas for the Department and participated in the development of their training curriculum. I supervised the training of all Department members, scheduled all training facilities at the Academy, scheduled and managed a cadre of 30 Department EVOC instructors. I coordinated with Internal Affairs and implemented a new tracking method for officer involved crashes which resulted in early prevention for problem drivers and providing remedial training. During my tenure I assisted in major revisions of general orders related to vehicle operations. I performed as an administrator for Crossfire, the Department’s training records and training enrollment computer database. I was responsible for bringing EasyDrift driving training program to the Department and became the first Master Instructor at the Department. In this position I was recognized by Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a subject matter expert and assisted in rewriting the driving curriculum for all law enforcement recruits in the State of Florida.

Coordinated the analyzing, gathering and dissemination of intelligence with internal and external law enforcement agencies to include federal, state and local partners. I was assigned with maintaining a list of known and suspected gang members and coordinating efforts with the Tallahassee Police Department Gang Response Unit. I hosted weekly intelligence meetings, monthly gang intelligence meetings and attended regional intelligence meetings with law enforcement partners. I also was a gang instructor for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Probation Officer Training Academy and instructed in their Academy classes. I performed as Department administrator and trainer for the CrimeNtel database and maintained password security for Accurint users at the Department. I assisted major criminal investigations in Violent Crimes and Property Crimes Units. I was tasked with completing portions of the background investigations for applicants safeguarding the Department’s hiring process.

First line supervisory position where I was assigned to train and evaluate the performance of new police officers, documenting their progress, making recommendations of discipline, training and career development. I was tasked with being a role model for new police officers.
