Lead External Investigations related to Transport Canada Inquiries and Customer Complaints

As part of General Motors Global Vehicle Safety Team, I am responsible for conducting investigations related to vehicle safety allegations affecting General Motors products in Canada. Regularly interface with Transport Canada officials and internal investigative and field action teams, ensuring potential safety issues are fairly and thoroughly assessed through internal processes, especially those related to cold climate and corrosive environments.

Worked as Interior Quality Engineer and department Red-X Coaching/Teaching Master for K2XX pick up truck. Also functioned as lead Training Coordinator as Subject Matter Expert for Problem Solving training at Oshawa Assembly.

Oshawa Assembly

Responsible for root cause investigations & countermeasures for new launch vehicle water leaks, squeak & rattles, and windnoise as well as overall product improvement initiatives.

Provide problem solving leadership role for all product lines related to interior trim assembly processes. Primary focus on customer quality metrics including Global Customer Audit and Warranty issues.

Provide quality support to production for all aspects of Paint operations at Oshawa Car Assembly Plant.

Performing Full-Time Contract Services to General Motors of Canada, Oshawa Car Plant. Currently assigned to Quality Engineering, Exteriors (Camaro).

2007-2009 - Quality Engineer - Interiors. Responsible for complex problem solving of all Interior components for GMT900 full-sized pick-up truck. Subject matter expert (SME) for sun roof, door pads, latching systems, and various other interior components.2004-2007 - Process Control Manager - Trim & Hardware. Root-caused complex issues and implemented permanent corrective action for defects caused by assembly process, supplier quality, or engineering design. Ensured countermeasures were in place for all sources of customer feedback including warranty and JD Power.2000-2004 - Process Control Mgr - Paint. Effectively led departmental problem solving effort for all paint defects. Chaired Contamination Control Team made up of cross-functional group of employees and suppliers to root cause and eliminate defects using statistical problem solving methods. Instrumental in allowing department to meet overall quality objectives and receive Best in Segment Award for Full-Size truck from JD Power & Associates.

Responsible for process design and sales support activities for the treatment of process, potable, and wastewater using ultraviolet-based technologies throughout North America.Received ‘Special Recognition Award’ for excellence in engineering work and personal role in securing the company’s major orders.Executed project planning, coordination of bench/pilot scale testing, supervision of lab technicians, full-scale process design, preliminary engineering drawings (PFDs and P&IDs), system troubleshooting, and technical report/proposal writing.

Research engineer for numerous wastewater treatment and product recovery technologies in a variety of industrial settings including R&D and technology development projects, pilot/full scale demonstrations, field installations, third party technology evaluations and technical reviews of new products.Performed on-site process evaluations in several sectors including automotive, metal finishing, oil & gas, and food & beverage using new innovative technologies.Application experience with several technologies including membranes (micro/ultrafiltration & electrodialysis), filtration equipment, oil/water separators and hydro-cyclones.
