The Mechanical / Industrialisation EngineeringThe Product Industrialisation team is one of the four technology pillars reporting directly to theCTO (Product development, Product Industrialisation, Field Industrialisation and SolarSolutions). 5B has an ecosystem business model and manufactures its products externally through manufacturing partners in Australia and internationally. TheProduct Industrialisation team develops the manufacturing systems toindustrialise 5B’s products, most specifically 5B’s flagship MAVERICK product. Theymust -● Developing low cost, high quality manufacturing systems and processes.● Developing the required systems and processes for QA and control in manufacture.● Working directly with the Product Development group to improve product design, mostspecifically design for manufacture● Working with the Ecosystem group to design manufacturing systems for externalecosystem manufacturing partners and to support the standing up of these partners.5B have developed a “1st Generation” manufacturing system known as the MAVPOD - a cellbased manufacturing system largely relying on assisted manual manufacture. It is currentlydeveloping a “2nd Generation” system which will lead to automated and high volume assembly.The primary purpose will be to -● Develop core manufacturing technologies and capabilities. Including prototyping,testing, manual jigging for assembly method development and development of vendorrelationships.● Be responsible for specifying and developing subsystems (equipment and process) forthe 2nd Generation manufacturing concepts according to overarching goals of cost,throughput and quality.● Oversea equipment specification and procurement processes with external vendors● Working with design engineers in product development group to improve the productdesign with respect to manufacturing principles.● Where required, working with Ecosystems services to design and support
