I am an experienced chase pilot with hundreds of hours in close formation with all different types of unmanned aircraft in every phase of flight and in all different flight conditions. My job is to provide the customer UAV’s with chase aircraft “see and avoid” services in civilian national airspace. While working directly with the United States Air Force, United States Army, United States Marine Corps, NASA, California Air National Guard, General Atomics, Department of Homeland Security, and many more entities, I manage full chase missions which include a preflight brief with the UAV crew, UAV launch, radio communications throughout the mission (UAV crew and ATC), traffic advisories for the UAV, and safe recovery while always adhering to company and customer standard operating procedures. I am a supervisor of flights where I manage logistical and personnel changes on a day to day basis while also overseeing daily flight operations of flights and crew. In addition, I am also responsible for training new hire pilots in chase operations to adhere to the company’s and customer’s standard operating procedures to effectively further safe operations.
