Dane is responsible to lead the educational practice at Gould Turner Group. Prior to joining Gould Turner Group, he has been involved with over sixty-five projects; eight of them are LEED Silver certified or pending review. As a believer that teamwork is essential to achieving client’s aspirations, he has earned a positive reputation for his contributions to multi-million dollar projects and for his ability to work well with clients, construction professionals, and leading A/E teams. As a forward-thinker known for his dedication, his deepest commitment remains in his ability to contribute at all project stages of K-12, higher education, research laboratory, office spaces, and urban planning projects. Dane has a unique understanding of owner's needs having worked as a commissioning agent at several top Universities. In addition, he has earned several architectural awards, including the second place for the Green Building Council (DVGBC) Design Competition. His community involvement includes TN Achieves Mentorship Program, American Cancer Society, Bike MS and his neighborhood Architectural Review Committee. Dane founded Primer Design Group in 2012 and served as the principal designer. In this capacity, he provided strategic vision for the firm, guided talented teams of consultants and contractors, and ensured project excellence.

Dane has earned a positive reputation within the building community for his contributions to multi-million dollar projects and experience working with clients, construction professionals, and leading A/E teams. He understands the evolution of design-construction projects and the roles that each project member has in a project. Project teams recognize his experience in building and sustainable systems, energy reduction in existing and new buildings, documentation quality control and coordination, mechanical and automation controls, and multi-phase and user-occupied projects. The focus of his work primary involves technically complex new construction, building renovation, laboratory and research facility, and systems’ modernization projects. Dane brings a client-focused process that is backed by his experience in all project phases. Recent projects at the University of Pennsylvania include, the historic Arch Building (LEED CI-Silver Certified 2015), Louis Kahn Richards Medical Building (LEED CI-Silver Pending), Perelman School for Political Science (LEED CI-Silver Pending), Meyerson Hal School of Design, Skirkanich Building, Frank Furness designed Fisher Fine Arts, Institute of the Contemporary Arts, Mayer Residence Hall, Graduate Research Wing (LEED CI-Silver 2015), and the Ryan Veterinary Hospital Building. He has also been involved with additional projects for University of Colorado Boulder, Penn State, Rowan University, Wexford Science and Technology Center, and UPenn Medical School.

Philadelphia, Princeton, New York, Dubai

When Dane joined the firm, the firm had been selected to lead the $352 million euro Champalimaud Clinical Research Laboratory on the Tagus River coast of Lisbon, Portugal with the world renowned architect Charles Correa. The project was a state-of-the art biomedical facility that contained functions normal to a high-end research facility, as well as patient areas surrounding a butterfly sanctuary. Once the project concluded, he transitioned to the beach-front Hotel Masterplan within the Madinat Al Soor project. The project team involved top architects from RMJM’s five offices within three countries. At RMJM Hiller; he was involved with many high profile projects, numerous design packages and proposals, building programming studies, project design and detailing, code studies, and client meetings and presentations. He was part of the winning team to design building prototypes for Motorworld and Khalifa University masterplan; both projects were located in Abu Dhabi. Dane regularly worked with design teams located in Philadelphia, Princeton, New York, and followed the Motorworld project to Dubai in 2009.

Greater Chicago Area

As a staff designer, Dane was involved in the Blake Hotel Lobby interior design. The design involved assimilating three adjacent buildings, each constructed with different structural materials and floor levels, into one continuous hotel space. He also participated in the construction documentation of two ‘fast-tracked’ projects and developing value engineering strategies for Kimball Hill Condominiums.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Dane worked on nearly twelve interior design projects in a five month span. He was responsible to develop construction documents and submitted for project permits. His contributions to several interior designs schemes made use of key information to solve requirements of expanding offices within a limited space, coordination of tenant future needs between existing and new office locations, space planning, brand identity, and interior design.

Erie, Pa

Over a span of four years, Dane contributing to over a dozen academic buildings and renovation projects. While his role primarily involved assembling construction documents and developing details; he contributed to several projects from the initial design to the end of construction. Some of the notable projects he was involved with include the new $23 million project for JS Wilson Middle School, Seneca High School Addition, Harborcreek High School Re-Roof, North East Elementary Center, Wright Elementary School, Asbury Elementary School, and Union City Middle School.
