Slater Lemont was a start-up steel mill and I established the accounting departmental procedures and processes, developed the month-end close and financial reporting process, enacted a manual costing of inventory program in Excel until we were functional on the mainframe system. I also coordinated and developed the annual business plan and two-year forecast for Slater Lemont including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections. The corporation filed Chaper 11 Bankruptcy and I implemented strict cash management, weekly cash flow projections, quarterly forecasts, daily reporting of operations to corporate personnel and court monitors, and monthly reporting to the Canadian and U.S. court representatives. The plant was closed in October 2003 and I remained on to close the books for year-end 2003.
