I am highly experienced in the manufacture and repair of modular Symes, trans tibial and trans femoral prosthetic limbs. (Incorporating laminated and thermoplastic (draped) sockets). I have an in depth knowledge of Blatchfords, Otto Bock, Ossur, Medi and Ortho Europe parts/products/components (knees, feet, adapters, locks, valves, cosmesis etc) and their application.Since 2008 I have run the Clinical Support Technician (CST) Clinic dealing directly with patients. The CST Clinic eliminates the need for patients to have see their Prosthetist for repairs, new parts and cosmetic foams and allows Prosthetists to concentrate their efforts on fittings, castings, assessments etc.Patients requesting mechanical repairs to their limbs can usually be seen on the CST Clinic the same or following day. I worked with Opcare and NHS management to roll out this new service and helped to resolve problems during its implementation.I have a keen interest in high definition silicone work and will often be involved in preparatory work for it e.g alginate impressions/cast production, colour matching and the fabrication of clear silicone “check sockets” to test fit and envisaged size before manufacture of the definitive prosthesis.Personal qualities:Friendly, helpful, courteous manner. A calm temperament. Approachable. Amiable. Positive. Diplomatic. Reliable. Good sense of humour. I believe the right attitude is just as important as ability to do the job.I appreciate the need to protect patient confidentiality, to preserve patient privacy and dignity. To act professionally and conscientiously. To listen. To show empathy.
