I participated in developing Ethos, a next-generation radiotherapy treatment planning system. I led the development of a new web-based product and plotted long-term planning.By using multiple optimization techniques, such as tree shaking, lazy loading, and memoization, the Lighthouse scores of 88, 93, and 100 for the Accessibility, Performance, and Best Practices categories, respectively, were achieved. Additionally, the Total Blocking Time was 0 milliseconds, and the Speed Index was 1.1 seconds. Furthermore, an automated regression testing pipeline running daily against multiple Chrome channels was implemented as a preventative measure of Chrome releases. Besides, system security was strengthened by analyzing OWASP Top Ten, performing threat modeling, and inspecting BlackDuck reports. Moreover, I organized a training workshop and follow-up sessions for Quality Engineers to automate manual tests with Cypress, which took in total of 60 hours and freed at least 2 hours daily.

By redesigning RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specification, not only the Backend and Frontend communications were hardened but also runtime errors were prevented.

By re-structuring CI/CD pipelines to avoid unnecessary compilation, the build time decreased by 15% (10 minutes).

I was a teaching assistant for a master's level course “CS-E5795 — Computational Methods in Stochastics” under Senior Lecturer Riku Linna in 2021 and 2022, which had 130 students on average. In addition to handling administrative tasks, I was involved in preparing and grading weekly assignments. By establishing active communication channels and improving exercise sessions based on students' feedback, student satisfaction increased from 62% to 90%. Via anonymous survey, good responses were received, such as “The course staff was very supportive. The lecturer and both TAs were very keen to help students with their questions.”, and “Slack worked really well and I felt that communication between TAs, instructors and students was good, active and transparent”.

As a member of the R&D team, I was responsible for developing new web-based products and cloud services to control frequency converters remotely. By automating the deployment process with CI/CD pipelines, the deployment time decreased by 50% (10 minutes). Furthermore, the loading time of the web application was reduced from 30 seconds to 1.2 seconds by improving the database design and optimizing the production build bundle.
