Philanthropy is a field with so much beauty and a field in need of some radical shifts. In my role as Senior Officer, I support folks to give to the causes and organizations that they care about most. My goal is to help move philanthropic giving into a place where resources are redistributed fairly and equity becomes more possible. Please reach out with any questions or just to connect!

Copper Beech Institute is a nonprofit bringing the transformative power of social justice-based mindfulness into schools, businesses, prisons, mental health organizations, addiction recovery centers, and more. My work focused on shaping our organizational mission, especially as it related to healing and justice, managing all grants, supporting donors and fundraising activities, building external community partnerships, and supporting our community outreach programs in the U.S. and abroad.

Libraries are dynamic, community-focused spaces where anyone can seek the resources they need to enhance their lives. As the Library Manager at Hartford Public Library, my role was to listen to the needs of the community, then create programs and purchase information resources that helped meet those needs. Librarians are public servants, community organizers, information-gatherers, activists, protectors of the First Amendment, and they are constantly building and maintaining relationships with funders, the public, and the team.

Crisis is an opportunity for transformation. Afiya is a Crisis Respite where anyone can move through their crisis. I supported the creation of Afiya from the ground up, helping to build the furniture and paint the walls. As the Director, I had the honor of serving thousands of individuals struggling to make meaning of the difficulties they were moving through. We did this through non-traditional methods of healing including Yoga and meditation, but also gardening, therapy, dancing, singing, cooking good food, and whatever other self-identified strategies were supportive. I led a team of 15 FT and PT folks and had the opportunity to present on our unique space throughout the U.S. and support similar crisis spaces in Germany and Denmark.

In moments of crisis, a friendly, supportive person can make all the difference. Through Safe Passage and the Hampshire County District Attorney's Office, I received calls on nights and weekends from police officers responding to domestic violence incidents and I connected with the survivors of violence, offering support, kindness, resources, and information.

Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

At ServiceNet, I supported young women who struggled with mental health challenges through 1:1 counseling, building life skills, and as the Human Rights Advocate for the house. Traditional mental health spaces can oftentimes be hierarchical and staff-centered. In my role, I worked to center the voices of the women I supported and to ensure that all decisions about their care came from them.
