http://www.danisimonthompson.com/When I was five my dad asked me, “do you want to be an artist when you grow up?” and I replied, “I AM an artist!” Four years later, when my classmates were braiding each other’s hair and playing with their Easy-Bake Ovens, I was admiring my Absolut Ad collection like a total bad ass. I was always excited to see what new concepts they’d come up with, tear them out, and scamper to my pom-pommed glitter-coated folder to keep them safe. This collection was a new creative outlet (aside from family craft fun) that inadvertently taught me brainstorming fundamentals that I carry with me today. Even though it took me fourteen more years to figure out I wanted to be an art director, I’ve always been an artist, and that’s something I’ll always be proud of (and not the fact that the Easy-Bake Oven was definitely the toy that got away).[My Absolut ads are on my website]
