Every day reaffirms my belief that, "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything."I am a sunny side of the street kind of person. I focus on doing good in my local communities with local leaders. It's been a dream to work with so many different Colorado organizations and non-profits helping Colorado become a more equitable and more environmentally friendly state. I have a B.A in English from St. Joseph's University as well as minors in History and Philosophy. I've traveled the world communicating with and for people that come from varied skill sets, backgrounds and cultures.I refined my communication, listening, management, problem solving, inter-cultural understanding and analytical skills across those different settings. I hope I can bring these skills to bear on whatever problem you might have, and together we can solve it.

Relational Organizing CoordinatorColorado Immigrant Rights Coalition Jul 2020 - PresentDenver, Colorado, United StatesAt CIRC I worked with an amazing team of 14 organizers all over the great state of Colorado. Our mission was to turn out the vote all over the state through a relational organizing model. We did this by training members of our C-3 organizations on our relational organizingmodel. This meant organizing digitally and, if possible dependent on social distancing, in-persontrainings where we highlight the importance of relational organizing when empowering POCand immigrant voters to turn out.We trained on the specific tactics necessary to effectively implement relational organizing (ex: recruiting other volunteers, committing friends/family to vote, organizing social events to commit friends of friends to also get involved and create leadership pipelines through OutVote). Also, we engaged non-CIRC members/organizations in relational organizing. Our strategy when working with these organizations mirrored our work with our C3 members as it related to training and recruitment. We targeted organizations that have large POC memberships as well as local businesses, churches, unions, and student organizations.Recruiting a high volume of volunteers to meet the following metrics was also a huge part of my job: pledges to vote, friends/family contacted, volunteers and volunteer leaders recruited, and 1:1’s and active shifts completed. I came up with innovative ways to consistently recruit these volunteers; more than ever this creativity and flexibility was necessary during COVID.And to top it all off it was essential that we thank these volunteers. I created consistent volunteer appreciation and professional development events in order to retain existing volunteers. -
OrganizerNew Era Colorado Aug 2018 - Jul 2020Greater Denver AreaAt New Era Colorado I had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of passionate, principled people who want every person to get involved in the Grand American Experiment. I worked closely with a team of 5-10 individuals to register thousands of young people to vote along the Front Range. I met (and exceeded) daily and weekly goals for voter registration and pledge to vote postcards.I also learned important data entry skills and have processed hundreds of voter registration forms. And, together with my team, I made plans to register voters on college campuses, phone banked, & knocked doors to engage and excite young voters.Voting however, is only the start of the process. We helped equip young voters with the information and tools they need to cast an informed ballot and help them make a plan to vote. It was a pleasure to chat up young voters everywhere, every way: by calling them to make sure they know where to go to vote, by knocking on their door to give them a voter guide, and even putting them in a golf cart to head to the polls. -
InternConflict Resolution Month In Colorado Jan 2018 - Sep 2018The Colorado Statehouse is an impressive building. The first time I walked into it, after weeks of coordination with Senatorial aides, I felt awed. Especially knowing that I was there to see a tribute read on the Senate floor in recognition of all the hard work of the 'Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado' organization.I also helped to pass a ‘Conflict Resolution Month’ Proclamation through Governor Hickenlooper's office.I regular contribute to the Conflict Resolution Month newsletter, letting our members know the latest news, our progress on initiatives throughout the state, and inviting them to our gatherings.
