My interest in statistics started in high school when I began compiling spreadsheets of stats from some of my favorite video games. Originally, I was just trying to gain insight about my hobbies. Now I’m aiming to translate my younger self’s passion into a career in data analytics. During my senior year at FSU, I led a team of three to analyze the prices of New York Airbnb data based on factors such as neighborhood. We generated predictive models in Python such as Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, and neural networks to help predict the price of listings. We then presented a visualization of the data collected and demonstrated the predictive power of the models. During my time at the Institute of Advanced Analytics pursuing a master’s in data science, I served as the technical lead for an 8-month long project with Daimler Trucks North America. Utilizing Python, I developed robust and re-usable code to handle over 100 million observations of individual trips. From these trip details, I performed feature engineering to create approximately 18 variables related to geospatial data. I then collaborated with my team to develop several machine learning models and presented these results to relevant shareholders at the company.In my free time, I enjoy playing video games with friends. While coordinating with seven other people can be challenging, it is also satisfying to tackle difficult tasks and succeed.
