I am a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Austin studying bioprospecting and synthetic biology for the degradation of plastics. I am interested in employing high-throughput methods towards enzyme and strain engineering to solve the plastic pollution crisis. As an alumni of the McNair Scholars Program I am also the President of the Texas McNair Graduate Association. An organization dedicated to developing a community for alumnus of the McNair Scholar Program, and facilitating mentorship with undergraduate McNair students who are underrepresented in higher education.
