I started my employment with Dine College as a Land Grant Intern in the summer of 2015. I made a leap across Departments to Residence Life for two back to back semesters. I made a leap across Departments to Residence Life for two back to back semesters. However while I was an Intern at the Land Grant Office (LGO) I made a descent impression for I was hired back the following summer. While working with Land Grant I made my largest improvements in leadership in the civilian sector. I was unintentionally elevated to supervisory intern (not an official position) however other interns would come to me and ask what was required for the day. I assumed the role because I saw it was needed and I loved the job. I had a strong work ethic because of the passion I had for this kind of work. I made it to a point where I was at work on my free time. I included my daughters in some of these days to expose them to the farm and ranch life. I want to continue being involved with a business in this field even if i must create it myself. I remained very flexible by working in diverse group and individual projects. I asked questions if i did not understand the tasks and objectives. The following subjects are what I did as a member of a team or individually. Aquaponics/Hydroponics (rainbow trout, koi, lettuce)On and off-grid power (wind turbine, solar PV, and battery bank) Farming, production and rotation, (forage grasses, vegetables)Ranching (vaccination, shearing, poultry)Range land managementSafe food handling Greenhouses (solar passive and cold roll) Yucca research, Irrigation systems large and small(drip, sprinkler, flood, jet pumps)Construction (stem wall with concrete, framing)Heavy equipment experience (back hoe, excavator, trencher, ride along compactor, remote operable compactor, jumping jack compactor, water truck, tractor with implements hydraulic and mechanical)heavy hauling with trailers goose-neck, bumper-pull (heaviest haul on state highways 30,000 lbs) Show less

I volunteered my time to go on Nightly rounds with the SRA's to allow the students to see the presence of a Dine College staff. I should mention I did the interview to be rehired for the position full time outscoring older and more qualified applicants, but was denied only for my lack of a bachelors degree at the time. Student Resident Advisor (Sra)
    Dine College Aug 2015 - Dec 2015

I applied to be a Student Resident Advisor for the fringe benefits. While there I improved my public relations skills and leadership. The position required time management, public, speaking, constructive criticism, tactful speech, and compliance with rules regulation and policies. We were students first in addition to being a full time student, advising other students, being present in the dorms, and sacrificing personnel time was required. We were students first in addition to being a full time student, advising other students, being present in the dorms, and sacrificing personnel time was required. I accomplished 1 major task while being an SRA. I did a 180 degree turn on the cleanliness and condition of the freshman boys dorm, which had a several year reputation for being the dirtiest, worst smelling dorm of residence life. My minor accomplishment was creating a checklist and process of inspection for cleanliness that allowed for future SRA's to follow to ensure the dorm remained in good quality living conditions. It was for these accomplishments I was essentially promoted to (probationary) Residence Life Coordinator the following semester. Show less
