Responsibilities include being the lead biologist for natural resource investigations for projects within the public and private sector. These projects included natural resource investigations with subsequent findings report and permitting as required by the NEPA process.

Western Pennsylvania group leader for the completion of NEPA documentation for the P3 Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, consisting of a total of 558 bridges throughout Pennsylvania. Of these 558 bridges, over 200 were located in PennDOT Districts 1-0, 10-0, 11-0 and 12-0. Duties included project scheduling and personnel assignments, technical reviews of Aquatic Resource reports, Section 4(f) documentation, Wild and Scenic River Coordination, Threatened and Endangered Species Coordination and Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments for potential Hazardous Waste (ESAs) concerns as well as Bridge and Roadway Programmatic Agreements (BRPAs), Level 1b Categorical Exclusions (CE1b) using PENNDOT’s Engineering and Construction Management System (ECMS). Once reviewed, the various documents were delivered to the design squads as assigned and PennDOT. Any questions or comments regarding these documents would be addressed and resubmitted. I also coordinated with the P3 Environmental Project Lead on schedule and updates with technical issues that would arise. I managed a team of four environmental professionals for this effort.

Lead project biologist for numerous natural gas projects (both linear and well pads) located throughout the Marcellus Shale region. Duties include constructability layout to natural resource investigations with subsequent findings reports and permitting as required.

Lead project biologist for numerous transportation and trail projects located throughout Pennsylvania. The projects included natural resource investigations with subsequent findings report and permitting as required by the NEPA process. I was also given the opportunity to design the field sampling protocol and conduct the monitoring activities of approximately 15 acres of scrub shrub wetland and 10-acres of upland habitat designed as potential habitat to encourage the propagation of woodcock as part of a PennDOT District 1-0 mitigation bank.

Lead project biologist for numerous energy and transportation projects located throughout Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. The energy projects included wetland and streamwork identification and delineations as well as providing information and assisting in the compilation of FERC reports for various projects in PA, WV and VA. I also had the opportunity of being a lead biologist for the 316(a) and 316(b) projects for studies conducted on coal fired power plants located on the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers in Pennsylvania and the Potomac River in Maryland.

Lead project biologist for numerous energy and transportation projects located throughout Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. The energy projects included wetland and streamwork identification and delineations as well as providing information and assisting in the compilation of FERC reports for various projects in NY, PA and MD. Transportation projects included Phase I Site Investigations for a streetscape project located in southwestern Pennsylvania as required by the NEPA process.

Lead project biologist for numerous highway and bridge replacement projects located throughout Pennsylvania. The projects included wetland and streamwork as required by the NEPA process.

Performed aquatic biological surveys to identify locations for control of nuisance plant species in ponds and lakes throughout eastern PA and MD. Sampled pond and lake water in order to assess water quality and establish a pond management plan to inform the private pond owner or lake association of the management options available.

Developed watershed monitoring project within a sub-basin of the Susquehanna River and Clarion River basins to establish base-line data for water quality, fish species, stream habitat evaluations and benthic macroinvertebrates. Also assisted with oil and gas operation fieldviews and fisheries habitat structure design and installations for lake and stream projects.

Performed Phase 1 ESA's for planned real estate transactions on behalf of lending institutions as part of their due diligence programs. Also assisted in numerous Phase 2 site remediation projects throughout NJ.
