In this role I manage several teams. I manage the AWS DevOps team, the Azure DevOps team, and a private cloud team based upon the VxRail technology. We are agile teams subscribing to both scrum and kanban methodologies.

In this role I managed a team of VMWare professionals supporting the compute platform at SGAS. I also managed a team of 3 supporting the Gov Clod offering in the UK.

In this role, I manage a team of 13 remote employees. My employee base extends across several US timezones. A significant portion of my team is based in India. We have built a generic Jenkins framework we have distributed to several teams in Product Engineering. The purpose of the framework is to create generic Jenkins installations whereby each team can write bash, python, or Powershell scripts along with a configuration file to have a working Jenkins deployment pipeline in minutes.

In this role, I assembled a DevOps team responsible for site reliability for several product engineering teams. We worked to create deployment models and offered support for our various products.

In this role, I managed 2 teams. I managed the DevOps team responsible for a home-brewed application called CloudControl. This application, written in JS, with a combination of other technologies provided an insightful look into resources deployed on the ECS platform. Simultaneously, I managed the budget, purchasing, and deployment of hardware deployed to the platform which was based off of Cisco’s UCS platform and managed a 6.5M$ budget.

In this role, I assumed primary responsibility for the Operations of the ECS platform, including change management, hardware installation, on-call management, and a 8.5M budget.

In this role, I worked through several site reliability issues including deployments, hardware issues, outages, and hardware installations. We introduced automation for the platform where none previously existed.

In this role, our team was primarily responsible for the uptime, reliability, and deployment of new software to the Rackspace Cloud Portal. In this role, we automated deployment using puppet and several other technologies to obtain an uptime of 4 9’s. This was a marked improvement from when I first joined the team.

In this role, our team managed 1000+ VmWare hypervisors running more than 10,000+ virtual machines. We successfully completed an upgrade of all hypervisors from ESXi 3.0 to ESXi 3.5 with no downtime. In this role, I also wrote a billing program that would publish billing results to a MSSQL DB reading from the VMWare API.

As a team of 6, we managed all of the corollary services for the Intensive segments at Rackspace made up of the most challenging and demanding customers. We managed Oracle, system support, AD, and Linux patching for the segment. During my tenure on this team, I managed TACACS and an upgrade from red-carpet (by SuSe) to an installation of the Red Hat Satellite Server. I wrote code that migrated 10,000+ Linux hosts to the new patching system in Ruby.

Working as a member of the Datacenter Operations team (DCOPS), we monitored, repaired, and upgraded servers existing within our datacenter. We conducted regular maintenances to do such. As a freshly hired from college graduate, I made a goal to myself to find a better position within the company within a year which I achieved. During my tenure in DCOPS, I wrote code to automate turnover (shift) production to the next adjacent team.
