As the founder and leader of both the Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Generative AI CoE, my role encompasses strategic alignment, stakeholder management, and team coordination. I work closely with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and align the strategic direction of these units accordingly. My responsibilities include coordinating Steering and Working Groups, focusing on the development of policies, processes, and systems that facilitate the delivery of Automation and AI products. The Automation CoE leverages Microsoft to design and maintain complex business applications across all departments. A significant part of my role here involves fostering an educational environment that empowers employees to automate their work effectively and safely. The Generative AI CoE is dedicated to educating the business about generative AI and its applications. We also produce generative AI products tailored to the needs of the business, regardless of size. In both CoEs, I am responsible for establishing and managing the team structure, ensuring the right roles and staff members are in place to achieve business goals in a cost-effective manner.

I manage a team of 6 high-performing individuals spread across Sydney and Melbourne who both Automate the high-volume / high-risk processes that exist in our business and pioneer new technologies and new methods for us better servicing our customers.Our Key Achievements:Automated the assessment and payment of > $1.2B of transactions during the COVID Super Payments; created and implemented in 6 weeks; saved the business from hiring a retrospective 22 contractors to complete the work and preventing costs of approximately $2.2M.Created the SMS capabilities of our business; > 135,000 SMSs have been sent to members, with our entire system created and implemented in < 6 months.Currently implementing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to our business to eliminate the need for data-entry.Automated > 50,000 hours worth of work since the teams inception.

The Light-Weight Robotic Process Automation Initiative (RPA) discussed below was successful and has been implemented across the Colonial First State Group.Working directly with our Risk Department, my team developed a process for assessing, documenting and implementing Automation pieces that are both fast (automation are usually implemented within a fortnight of ideation) and risk-conscious.Through this process and working with business departments, I identify processes that require a heavy time investment, or areas with substantial repetitive work that drag down staff-moral, map the process with the assistance of SMEs, and develop scripts able to perform actions and make simple assessments on behalf of users, freeing their time to focus more on our customers.

As an Implementation Analyst I work to analyse and enhance our current systems and processes; identifying opportunities from improvement, analysing business requirements and creating open communications channels between a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to Legal, Marketing, Product, IT, and the Process owners.I work to create a want for change amongst administrators and process owners and ensure that changes in the business are well understood, documented and implemented in a reliable and reslient manner that is accepted and does not fall back to previous BAU.Subject to capacity and necessity, and given previous experience working with insurance, large data sets, compliance issues and automation, I also work on large compliance issues by assisting with data collection, analysis, and impact reporting.In addition to all of the above, I am currently working on the development and implementation of a new, light-weight Robotic Process Autromation (RPA) initiative to further enhance our processes and staff. With time, I plan to be able to develop and deploy adaptable and efficient automations in an manner that address areas with repeatable work or areas requiring bulk work over larger data sets as the needs arise.
