Dan Babich is a versatile global macro and special situations portfolio manager with over a decade of experience in US, European, Asian and emerging markets.  Dan has a background in global macro trading, emerging markets investing, special situation investing and complex thematic investments.  As Senior Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager of Hayman Hong Kong Opportunities Fund, Dan develops trade ideas, manages investment strategies and asset allocations for Hayman's funds based on global trade policies, monetary policy and economic trends.Dan's representative expertise includes:   - FX and interest rate trading in Asian markets (China and Hong Kong in particular);- Credit, FX and equity investments and restructurings in Argentina, Brazil and Greece;- Special situation investing (entire capital structure) with a focus on European and US financial institutions.Dan's experience in Chinese financial markets, monetary policy and economics has provided him with the opportunity to advise members of Congress and the Administration on issues related to China. Dan has authored opinion pieces published by Bloomberg on the US-China relationship and the current economic crisis.Dan began his career in portfolio management at Fortelus Capital Management in London. His notable accomplishments at Fortelus include investing in several corporate restructurings, long/short trades in financials and sovereign credit in peripheral Europe and helping establish a de novo bank in Europe to access ECB liquidity facilities.Prior to his career in portfolio management, Dan was a research fellow in the physics department at CalTech  Dan studied physics at Princeton University and received a PhD in physics from Harvard University. While at Princeton he was a four year member of the track and cross country teams.
