Barrow Island

Worked on various Ensign rigs, including conventional triples and ADRs. The most recent work experience was on Rig 963 ADR triple, contracting for Chevron on Barrow Island for the Gorgon Project. As Derrickman, maintained the safety and integrity of the mud fluids and pumps. Also worked in the derrick when tripping in and out of the hole and performing dropped object inspections of the derrick. Was instrumental in the changes that were required from Ensign to develop standard operating procedures and mentoring subordinates in JSA’s, JHA’s and risk assessments for Rig 963. Starting out as Lead Floorman on Rig 963, performed all aspects of Rig Floor procedures, often assisting the mechanic, electrician, HSE Advisor and management. Led the floor on all drilling operations and undertook the Derrickman duties when required.Derrickman Mar 2013 – Sept 2014 • developed standard operating procedures to meet new safety and risk management practices • received Chevron International Behaviour Based Safety Award in Oct 2013, an award given to one employee involved in Chevron global operations for recognizing potential safety hazardsLead Floorman Feb 2012 – Mar 2013 • performed Rig Floor procedures and led floor on all drilling operations

Adelaide, Australia

Worked on Hunt Energy Rig 3, a double with Kelly Drive System. Roles included all drill pipe connections, assisted Derrickmen, tripping in and out of the hole with manual tongs, maintaining and servicing rig floor equipment and assisting derrickmen in maintaining duplex and triplex mud pumps. Helped peers and novices identify the hazards involved with drilling operations and assured that safety was of the highest standard. Started out as Floorman and was promoted to Lead Floorman.

Taupo, Waikato, New Zealand

Floorman 7 months. Worked on Rig 246, a triple with Top Drive System. Jobs included all pipe connections on a manual rig and handling of drill pipe from pipe rack to drill floor. Assisted drillers, operators and geologists with down hole wire line sampling equipment. Maintained rig equipment and cleaned the rig floor. Roustabout 4 months. Jobs included loading and unloading trucks with all rig equipment, cleaning and painting the rig to ensure that the environment was not compromised due to our operations. Directed cranes, mixed of mud, adhered to MSDS sheets, prepared drill pipe and assisted floormen when needed.
