About Daniel Baron

Over my decades of grapegrowing and winemaking, I have worked to become an inclusive and collaborative leader and have developed the ability to find and bring out the best in my production teams. I am an accomplished problem solver with the ability to cut to the root of a problem and use a team approach to resolve it. As a natural raconteur, I can captivate an audience with insightful stories that bring them to a higher understanding and appreciation of wine. In an ongoing effort to expand my knowledge, I have focused, in the last five years, on precision farming and plant-based measurements to determine irrigation needs and maturity. My most recent emphasis has been on the importance of educating and incentivizing the vineyard workers so that they are executing demanding standards of quality in the vineyard. In the cellar, I underline the importance of finding a balance between science and artistry, and use cutting edge analysis on the one hand and experience based intuition on the other to bring out the best in each vintage. This approach results in profound, moderate alcohol wines that express classic varietal character, site and vintage. I am seeking a few select clients to bring this global approach to grapegrowing, winemaking, public relations and leadership to their production team. I am available on January 1, 2017.
