As Principal Research Integrity Advisor, I lead the design, development, and delivery of organization-wide training and education programs for researchers, including research students, in research integrity and ethics. This initiative represents an important piece of a larger program to ensure that obligations for research integrity and ethics form part of regular conversations about research, research performance, and research strategy. I also engage with the University’s Research Integrity Advisors to ensure that they are equipped to respond to initial queries about the responsible conduct of research. I am also conducting research into the responsible conduct of research, including a research project sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training to develop Guiding Principles for Research Integrity for member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.

As Research Grants Officer, I administered biomedical and public health funding opportunities for researchers at the University of Melbourne. As Project Officer, I contributed to a variety of initiatives in research management including the research performance metrics and rankings, research integrity investigations, and the "Research at Melbourne" strategy.

My research concerned viral immunity and mass spectrometry-based proteomics in the laboratory A/Prof Anthony Purcell in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Bio21 Molecular Science and Biotechnology Institute. My main achievements: a description of changes that occur to the protein landscape of cells infected with influenza A virus; the generation of T cell hybridomas, cloning and expression of T cell receptors specific for influenza A virus and MHV-derived antigens. Through this position I had the privilege of working with A/Prof Stephen Turner and Laureate Professor Peter Doherty at the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, and Professor Stanley Perlman at the Department of Microbiology, The University of Iowa, USA.

As Research Grants Officers, I undertook the review and management of competitive national and international biomedical and public health grant and fellowship schemes for the University of Melbourne.
