About Daniel Benoit

My research uses both in vivo and in vitro techniques to study the relationships between muscle activation, joint kinematics and joint contact forces to determine their influence on joint stabilisation and soft tissue loading. I have also published extensively on the issue of soft tissue artifact and in vivo knee joint kinematics.

Our goal is to develop evidence founded in neuromuscular control and biomechanics research to inform and improve clinical practice. Our focus is primarily the lower extremity, and in particular knee injuries in youth and adults. Our team includes orthopeadic surgeons, kinesiologists, biomedical engineers, rehabilitation specialists, biomedical scientists, coaches and knowledge users in the community.
