Aerostructures Manager Nasa Student Launch
The goal of this project is to improve upon what was done last year in the NASA Student Launch last year. As the aerostructures manager, I am in charge of the design, simulation, and creation of the rocket itself. I hold meetings to teach other members how to do everything that is required to complete a student researched and designed rocket. I also write technical documentation on everything that happens in the project and work with financial restraints by budgeting.
Head Surf Instructor
As a Head Surf Instructor, I would have all the same responsibilities as a regular surf instructor while having more authority and being seen as a senior instructor.
Surf Instructor
As a surf instructor I taught and ensured the safety of multiple students, aged 7 to 14, in potentially hazardous environments. I would direct 30 to 40 students in organized events, both independently and as part of a team of instructors. I would accomplish various tasks while maintaining trainee satisfaction. As an experienced instructor, I would mentor new instructors and and train students with clear and effective communication.
Solid Motor Mechanical Design Engineer
The goal of the Solid Motor propulsion project was to give students more experience with designing and manufacturing propulsion systems. The students were placed into teams to compete in a static fire to see which team has the highest overall thrust. In this project I gained experience in CREO and propulsion simulation programs such as Open Motor while working in a team to discuss the pros and cons of different grain configurations and compositions.
Manufacturing Team Nasa Student Launch
The goal of the project was to design and manufacture a rocket that would rise to a certain apogee and would release a payload in a competition against other schools. The rocket was entirely student researched and designed and was made primarily of carbon fiber and fiberglass. As a manufacturing member I participated in a manufacturing week where in 3 days we constructed the body of the rocket. The process consisted of sanding, cutting, and working with materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, Mylar, epoxy, and more. We also had to use CAD software like SOLIDWORKS to design anything we might need such as a nose cone mold and mandrel support.
Sound Engineer
I would set up sound systems as a part of a team under tight time restraints. I also would work to keep an audience happy during a live setting.
Back Of House Team Member
I worked under tight timelines and pressure to cook and prepare food; wash dishes; and clean the kitchen in a timely manner while balancing consumer satisfaction.
