I am a responsible and punctual person who would be willing to do any tasks that are needed to be done. I specialise in science based subjects, working to improve my skills throughout my academic journey, through working with bacteria and viruses. This has allowed me to understand and address health and safety issues directly, thus allowing me to to fully implement any techniques necessary, for example in my masters project, I am working with the Influenza H1N1 strain, thus I have worked in microbiological cabinet to help reduce spread to my peers. am looking to continue this course by looking to find laboratory work to further improve my skills in this field. In addition, I can work within a group or on my own effectively and efficiently as during my education I have completed several tasks which required me to work on my own or in a team. When working in a team, I have both worked as a team member and a team manager. This has been worked upon in my Masters course, looking at different Influenza methods and their use in evaluating ozone decontamination effectiveness on scientific waste. This project has allowed me to discuss ideas and develop upon feedback from group sessions. This project also allowed me to fully explore issues, thus allowing collaborative and independent problem solving so that the project could be furthered developed to get closer to the desired result. In addition, it has allowed me have experience managing laboratory inventory and work to address stock issues in a timely manner.During my university course, I have had multiple opportunities to improve my lab technique and practise multiple different skills. For example, I am comfortable doing bacterial identification techniques such as Gram Staining and Gel electrophoresis. In addition to this, during my first year at university, I scored the highest overall mark for the year in my course group. This shows my dedication to my set tasks and my desire to complete every set task to the best of my ability. In addition to this, I have taken part in the NCS (National Citizen Service) programme. This allowed me to gain a large range of important skills needed to perform many different jobs or roles. During this programme, I have learnt and improved multiple skills, such as teamwork, communication and time management. As well as that, I was able to help with local charities and I was able to do some fundraising. This allowed me to improve my communication skills and help the community.
