The team (Maya Petersen & Daniel Casarez) worked with executive Lydia Stazen and program coordinator Tiffany Connolly from the Ruff Institute of Global Homelessness, a nonprofit organization that assists cities around the world in combating homelessness. Purpose/Goal:The project lasted approximately 6 months. Its main objective was to add relevant plugins and create a file organizational structure for the client. The team implemented Agile methodologies to collaborate and produce project deliverables with weekly sprints determining workload and deliverables. Our goal was to improve site standards and provide tools that can help organize the site for future migration. We planned on accomplishing these goals by providing a cookie plugin, an accessibility plugin, an SEO plugin, an SEO file naming guide, and a list of plugins and themes to prepare for migration.Benefits/Costs:Throughout the project we spent extensive amounts of time analyzing the best plugins and tools that would improve site standards and create a more organized site. We provided training guides for plugins such as the, Cookie consent plugin, Accessibility plugin, WordFence Security plugin, and Simple SEO plugin. Implementation Method: The project was organized by following the Agile methodology such as establishing roles and regulations to follow when in a specific role. We ensured that teammates followed proper Agile processes such as, following proper Agile behavior, generating proper agile documents, and enforcing healthy communication between all team members. All project deliverables were tested and approved by the client based on the client's recommendations or preferences. Throughout the project, the team worked off of a Product Backlog which followed the Agile Sprint development process. Show less
