Classroom Teacher (Y1, Y2, Y3 & Y5), Year Leader (Y2 & 5),Literacy Coordinator, Assessment CoordinatorClassroom teaching post for ten years across the Infant and Junior schools (Pre-Prep.)I have been at the forefront of several innovations to the Pre-Prep during the last few years, including the development of role play areas, a comprehensive phonics overhaul and implementation of a tracking system of Letters and Sounds, as well as the introduction of target and feedback systems for reading and writing. I have taken on the role of year leader (Y2 and Y5) and successfully led and managed two very different year group teams.During my time as year leader, I organised the first Year Two overnight expedition, a four night residential stay for Year Fives and the very first international exchange between primary pupils from Harrow School Bangkok and its sister school in Beijing. My roles as Literacy and Assessment coordinator have allowed me to develop middle management experience through providing advice and training to staff; mentoring colleagues through the professional development review process; drafting, updating and implementing policy; bringing staff up to date with current ‘best practice’ and curriculum development; monitoring teaching and learning; lesson observations; auditing planning; leading regular curriculum group, staff meetings and parent workshops as well as developing common assessment systems across the primary phase. I have successfully run a wide range of sporting and creative after school activities. Recently, I have gained experience of working in the Boarding house as Assistant House Master working with boys of all ages from Years 5-13.
