  Responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of telecommunication and associated electronic equipment on platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, Fujitsu, Tellabs and Alcatel. Provide technical support and assistance with troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration and installation of communication center and customer network hardware. Install, provision, test and maintain both network and customer circuits, electrical and fiber optic, utilizing various test sets from vendors such as JDSU, Noyes, Fluke and T-Berd. Perform installation of equipment that requires DC power (-48 volts). Coordinate communication center moves and expansions. Ensure effective scheduling, use and assignment of technician resources and ensure that specified response times and MTTR are met. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems escalated by technicians. Deliver on-the-job training on new and revised products and procedures. Created written procedures on installing and troubleshooting various types of data communication equipment and test set operation. Possess a working knowledge of protocols such as SONET, Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, TCP/IP and X.25. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware and software problems and skilled in PC applications such as Microsoft Office. Serve as a backup manager in the event of immediate manager’s absence. Responsible for overall operation of one large scale and two medium scale Verizon Business Data Center’s in Lower Manhattan. Logistic responsibilities include maintaining an accurate site inventory and the shipping and receiving of data communication hardware. Organized stockrooms at several Verizon Business locations. Coordinate and supervise facility operations such as electrical work and HVAC repair.
