Hello, I am Daniel Catan, but I go by DJ.I am a Software Developer with experience in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node.JS, Express ,React, And PostgresSQL.I graduated with a B.A in Economics hoping to be in finance and work towards becoming a CPA. Excited to gain work experience I accepted an opportunity in a cancer diagnostic laboratory. At the time, my position was supposed to be temporary, however I was able to quickly work my way into a promotion. This was when my career path had shifted to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist as this was the standard pipeline for my position. This was my clear choice until the pandemic changed everything,. As I began reflecting more on what Im truly passionate about.After months of thinking and figuring out if I should pursue a career in healthcare, it was like a sign from the universe. After having conversations with a close friend and family member about their career change into software development, their story sparked my interest. I found myself wanting to learn more as I watched tutorial coding videos and did online courses. After several months of waiting for the “right moment”, I knew that I wanted to change my career path. This ultimately led me to LearningFuze’s full-immersion bootcamp, which I proudly attended and completed. I learned in a simulated work environment where my ability to succeed under pressure was tested daily. I studied and worked on coding for about 70-80 hours a week.
