I teach Psychology and Business Studies in the International Baccalaureate and in the British O levels curriculum. I teach students from highly multicultural backgrounds with a diverse range of interests and abilities. As part of my training, I have recently completed my IB training in Oxford (CAT2 - June, 2017).In my role as Head of Community Outreach, I am responsible for coordinating careers forums, organising community based volunteering excursions, inviting guests speakers for school presentations, establishing and overseeing the student council and co-creating the Parent-Teacher Association.

The Assistant House Leader for Mackenzie is jointly responsible for the wellbeing of 150 high school students. This involves working with the House Leader to develop strategy for student wellbeing and behaviour management, empowering the team of Homegroup teachers and implementing action plans for students involving the coordination of the student, teachers and parents or caregivers.

The Partnerships Director is responsible for overseeing all partnerships formed between organisations with the dynamic and social Live Below the Line campaign in 2013. Partnerships come in the form of workplace participants, corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations and promotional partners.

Kokoda, Papua New Guinea

The inaugural Trinity Leadership Challenge was an idea first put forward by Daniel to Trinity College in October, 2010. Daniel envisioned himself and eleven others from the college hiking the Kokoda Trail. Daniel sought assistance from Nathan Jessup, Director of Leadership at Melbourne Grammar, to put to-gether a leadership program consisting of weekly workshops on leadership and fitness based challenges. Roles and responsibilities included putting together proposals, contacting alumni and benefactors of the college and coordinating flights and accommodation with the tour company. Daniel raised $30,000+ and is in the midst of succession planning to ensure this is an ongoing program.

Canberra

In 2011, Daniel was nominated and selected to attend the National Student Leadership Forum (NSLF). Of all the nominees around Australia, 200 are selected to attend a four-day workshop on faith and values as well as to meet prominent politicians and to be addressed by the Prime Minister and leader of opposition. Daniel returned in 2012 & 2013 as an Small Group Facilitator (SGF). The role of SGFs is to facilitate the opening up and subsequent discussion with individual delegates.

Elevate Education is a company geared towards preparing students for their final years in secondary education. Presenters of Elevate Education are young, professional, and are able to relate to their students through interaction and personal story-telling. Daniel has been with the company eighteen months and has been promoted to Senior Presenter. Senior Presenters have the added responsibility of being to pre-sent to any school group sizes including large groups of 50+ students. They must also be able to fluently and effectively present all of the available seminars including Ace Your Exams and Time Management.

Battambang, Cambodia

English For Everyone (EFE) is a program that addresses the lack of education in the rural outskirts of Battambang in Cambodia. Upon visiting Cambodia in 2009 Daniel was introduced to and then worked with Leung Vuthy, orphan of the Khmer Rouge, on a program he was establishing out of his own home. Daniel proceeded to take the English classes, write the proposals and format and formalize the internal documents with the aim of making the program sustainable. In the summer of 2010/2011, Daniel sent a team of three to Battambang to take the English classes and broaden their exposure to the underprivileged in Cambodia. EFE has since been incorporated into a larger organisation, Rural Orphan Organisation (ROO), established by Mr. Vuthy where Daniel has ensured the program is supported until the end of 2012.

Battambang, Cambodia

In December 2011, 23 students of the residential colleges of Melbourne University (Trinity, Queens, and Ormond) embarked on an expedition to build houses for impoverished families in Cambodia. Daniel initiated and organised this event and was responsible for motivating the very high-achieving group of young leaders to reach their individual and group fund raising targets of $1,500 and $9,000 respectively. They raised over their target and made $40,000 in three months. This money was sent to Cambodia to be distributed to local contractors to buy the materials and build the foundations of the houses. The 23 team members flew to Cambodia to finish the houses and welcomed the families into their new homes.Fundraisers for the program included an inaugural Gala Night where Daniel worked with the Trinity College Outreach Team to host a night promoting community service and raising awareness. Daniel invited and confirmed Simon McKeon, philanthropist and 2011 Australian of the Year, to be the keynote speaker.
