As a fleet manager at Universal Truckload Services, one of my many responsibilities includes fielding calls from the drivers and agents who are based out of the states of Wisconsin and Illinois. I am also responsible for keeping track of all 75+ trucks out of those states and the many agents as well. In addition, I help get them to the right people when they come across maintenance issues or other various things due to the unpredictability of the transportation industry. The unpredictability of the industry is one thing that I really enjoy about my job as a fleet manager; you never know what to expect each day you are in the office. AS400 is the software I am becoming more and more familiar with each day, since it is what we use for updating every truck driver's status. If there happens to be an accident or injury, I am responsible for getting all the required information into a report and sending the report to the appropriate people to ensure the right course of action is taken. I also assist agents with any questions they may have or any issues that come up with drivers and vice versa. My goal is to be the very best at giving the correct information to the drivers and agents as well as providing the best possible customer service to ensure the drivers and agents can make the money each of them desire. I strive to go above and beyond the customer's expectations, so we can continue to grow our company and be known in the industry for having great customer service for our customers, agents and most importantly our drivers. It is my job to make sure each truckload or less than truckload goes as smooth and as fast as possible, while abiding by the safety standards provided by the Department of Transportation and our safety department. At American Transport Group I was responsible for dispatching trucks and providing drivers all the necessary information needed to make their pickup and delivery appointments. I also learned how to make cold calls to potential customers that we could haul fright for in the future. I would also sell truckload space and was eventually added to a group where I was able to start a LTL flatbed division for my group. Valeting vehicles and greeting customers were the main responsibilities. Loaded and unloaded luggage, attached the right hotel baggage tags to the luggage, so the guest received their luggage over on Mackinac Island.

A seasonal job during the summer months. Responsible for greeting customers, unloading and loading luggage out of their vehicles and onto the ferry for the trip to Mackinac Island with proper hotel luggage tags. Also, valeting cars for customers after they had departed for Mackinac Island.
