About Daniel Cheong
Daniel is currently with the Mergers & Acquisitions team at SMBC Nikko. At the same time, he is also co-founder and owner of The Skewer Bar and Our Culinary Journey - an upcoming F&B group bringing contemporary Japanese/Local fusion concepts to the dining scene - which currently has 3 izakaya bar bistros located in east and central Singapore.In his last role, Daniel was a Regional Manager with Allianz Asia Pacific where his primary focus was in corporate strategy and M&A for the APAC region, and prior to that was with the Regional Management Office of Ergo Insurance (Direct Insurance arm of Munich Re) where he held a similar function covering the SEA region.Daniel commenced his M&A career with Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance where he had been actively advising on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financing and capital markets transactions across SEA for more than 6 years and last left as an Associate Director.Daniel graduated with Honours in Finance from the University of Western Australia, with a triple major in Corporate Finance, Investment Finance, Money & Banking, and a minor in Business Law. During his time in University, he was also a teaching assistant in charge of tutoring Corporate Finance to 2nd year undergraduates, as well as a research assistant in the University’s Department of Financial Studies.
