Initially responsible for delivering consultancy services relating to factory automation reviews, considering opportunities for introducing process improvements and new automation solutions, and in particular collaborative robot solutions. Gaining responsibilities for leading the robotics team and bridging between the sales and engineering departments, taking on development of new project proposals including solution concept development and pricing. Introduced process improvements in the costings and project planning for improved proposals and more accurate pricing. A highly customer facing position with respect to both project management and regular communications, as well as account management and new customer journeys and supporting networking opportunities such as exhibiting at the PPMA show.

Coventry

Working in a diverse role that started with full time research engineer responsibilities on a novel rotary electric machine automation project. Developing into a more senior role focused primarily around project management responsibility for numerous projects with cumulative value circa £1M. Gaining additional responsibility to lead a team of 8 engineers working across a variety of research projects. A customer facing role in project reporting among consortia and projects funded by Innovate UK, reporting technological progress and budget management.

Banbury

Working as a project engineer, involved with all aspects of the engineering business from robot programming to delivering training courses and supporting service and system installations. A highly technical and hands on role involving electrical work within the robot controllers, making modifications such as adding external axis servo packs and other optional equipment. Self taught in the advance robot programming functions with the robot pendant and offline simulation package.

Hall Green, Birmingham

A placement year, with the Year In Industry scheme, based in the Quality department in an electronics manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities included traceability exercises, as a means of understanding where components are in service. Also responsible for delivering ethics training to operators on the shop floor. Management of quarantine stores and weekly monitoring of first time pass rates in production.
