Transitioned the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s paper-based import process for live dogs and primates to an electronic-based process to ensure that the CDC’s public health import laws are properly enforced. Implemented revisions to the Cuban Assets Control Regulations (CACR) and developed policies that enabled trade with independent Cuban entrepreneurs, in concert with the Department of State, the Department of the Treasury, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).Collaborated regularly with multiple federal agencies to solve interagency problems by developing U.S. Government-wide policy on international trade operations to better enable other U.S. Government agencies to fulfill their public health and safety missions. Engaged with interagency partners to implement requirements to enforce sanctions, and engaged with the appropriate internal offices to ensure agency-wide compliance.
