I offer Mindful and Somatic Approaches to counseling and change. I specialize in working with trauma, sexuality, and spirituality, helping individuals, couples, and families recover, integrate and find wholeness.As a trainer, I specialize in supporting staff to develop ways to mitigate vicarious trauma, burnout, and stress related maladies.I also train staff to integrate somatic and neurobiological perspectives into counseling and trauma recovery work.

As a training assistance I supported students by orienting them to the environment, answering logistical questions, reassuring them about learning challenges, helping them get comfortable in the space, and participating in practice exercises. I supported the trainers by tracking the group's dynamics and process, making sure that breaks were taken and ended as needed, clarifying confusion or conflicts in the group, and attending to any other needs the trainers might have in the course of the block. I found great pleasure and passion in coaching exercise and practice sessions as directed by the trainer. I also worked closely with the lead trainer, Janina Fischer, who I greatly respect in the field.

As the Behavior Intervention Specialist, I work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team in residential and day services for individuals and families with special needs.I provide consultation with supervisors, MSC’Social Workers, parents/advocates, related services staff, and administrators regarding social, behavioral, emotional and developmental issues. I also:• Provide psychological services to the program including consultation, intermittent emotional assessment, crisis intervention, and behavior management plans• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of behavior plans/programs with regard to: ß Behavioral concernsß Emotional climate in the programß Group dynamics ß Programmatic modifications ß Developmentally appropriate interventions • Provide psychological evaluations, screenings, and updates on individuals receiving services, as well as those newly enrolled.• Design and implement group behavior management plans for programs.• Provide in-service training for staff on relevant topics (e.g. understand DD, team dynamics, interpersonal skills and problem solving. • Maintain timely clinical documentation following ethical and clinical guidelines (e.g. written reports, therapy notes, etc.• Assess and evaluate individuals' problems using case history, interview, and observation and provide individual or group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.• Counsel individuals or groups to help them understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic action plans.• Develop therapeutic and treatment plans based on individuals' interests, abilities, and needs.• Analyze data such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals in order to identify symptoms, and to diagnose the nature of individuals' problems.

While working with Luke-Dorf, Inc, I conducted integrated assessments and mental health diagnostics of prospective low/no-income consumers and coordinated their access to care.I compiled intake and assessment findings in a report that was usable and completed in a time-sensitive manner. I also maintain relationships with and made outreach efforts to community resources, community corrections, and organizations while ensuring follow-through with these referrals and trouble shot concerns around advocacy, accessibility, and communicationI facilitated weekly trauma therapy groups inspired by Seeking Safety and TREM models and offered dually diagnosed therapy based in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Wellness Management and Recovery, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I found great pleasure and challenge in mentoring and supervising Master's level interns and residential staff, empowering their competency, capacity, and confidence to be integral parts of the healing environment.

At Noeticus Counseling Center I provided mental health, psychological services, and Drug and Alcohol treatment counseling and assessment for children, young adults, adults, couples, families, and groupsI also networked within the metro Denver area for social service resources and provided case management for issues of domestic violence, drug abuse, financial distress, childhood abuse. I worked as part of an integral team, assessing the risks and needs of this population, while performing intakes and psychometric testing.
