Almirall is a mid-size pharmaceutical company headquartered in Spain previously specialising in the sale of Dermatology & Respiratory products (global turnover €1bn). European expansion plans led to the creation of a UK subsidiary at the start of 2008 to launch into the UK market. I was appointed with full responsibility for all aspects of UK Finance, IT, Purchasing and Logistics. The initial remit involved understanding, recommending and implementing necessary structures for UK Finance. Key product launches into new therapeutic areas provided a unique opportunity to develop and grow my strategic and commercial skills alongside my key finance responsibilities.

Recordati is a mid-size pharmaceutical company headquartered in Milan, Italy specializing in cardiovascular product sales throughout Europe (total sales €600m). European expansion plans led to the creation of a UK subsidiary at the start of 2006 to promote and sell its’ key product Zanidip whilst actively seeking new products to launch into the UK market. I was appointed as Finance and Admin Manager with full responsibility for all aspects of UK Finance and Logistics. Given the startup nature of the UK subsidiary, processes needed to be setup before they could be maintained.

UCB Pharma is a pharmaceutical company listed on the Belgian stock exchange and specializing in allergy and neurology product sales of €2,000m. Their R&D pipeline was broadened in July 2004 following the acquisition of the Celltech Group PLC. In this Regional role covering Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey (sales €100m), I gained important experience supporting a Divisional Commercial Director launching in new markets as well as operating in mature and mid growth markets. Key to this role was balancing critical Commercial support with ensuring the day to day finance and performance management model ran smoothly and in line with expectations.
